Conflict? Disagreement? Misunderstanding?
What role do words play in shaping how we think, feel, and respond?
This session explores the powerful connection between language, psychology, and behavior through the lens of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and its relationship to cognitive behavioral approaches. We’ll examine how the words we choose can influence perception, regulate emotions, and shift the direction of a conversation — especially in moments of conflict.
Do we always say what we truly mean? Or do we shape reality through our language?
Participants will gain insight into how communication patterns impact mediation, and how intentional word choice can help de-escalate tension, build understanding, and guide parties toward resolution. This session will also introduce practical techniques for using language more effectively in high-pressure conversations.
Join us as we explore the psychology behind communication — and how mastering it can transform the way we navigate conflict.
This session is being organized by TMI's college intern Prisha!
